“HISTORIC OAKLEIGH” EXHIBITION

History Monash Inc presents its latest exhibition, “Historic Oakleigh”, opened in May 2021. The exhibition presents the broad sweep of the history of Oakleigh and region from pre-European times to the recent past. Special focus is given to Kulin Land, survey and settlement, civic and community development, Oakleigh General Cemetery, Oakleigh’s changing demographic, the contribution of women and the Spanish Flu from 1918. The exhibition is presented through text, photographs and maps, and artefacts. History Monash Inc gratefully acknowledges the support of the City of Monash for this exhibition, through a Community Strengthening Program grant.

The exhibition is open to the public on Tuesdays between 10 am and 2 pm, but during these uncertain COVID-19 times, please contact History Monash Inc before your visit to check that we will be open.
