New Exhibition: OAKLEIGH -A CHANGING MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITY

Oakleigh: A Changing Multicultural Community explores the story of Australian migration and its local impacts. It describes the journey of immigrants from many countries to the Oakleigh area from early years to the peak of a major post-World War 2 government-sponsored immigration program. Featured themes in the peak post-World War 2 era are people from Italy and Greece. This is a free exhibition and bookings are not required, unless you wish to bring a group. (see Enquiries below.)

Exhibition location:
Monash Federation Centre, 3 Atherton Road Oakleigh.
(Enter via the double glass doors facing north towards the Warrawee Park carpark.)

Exhibition open hours:
Tuesdays 10 am to 2 pm until 17 November 2026.

The impact of immigration upon Australia’s First Nations people is acknowledged, as is their enduring connection to place.
