In May 2019 Helen Gobbi, History Monash’s historian and Vice-President, was honoured by the Royal Historical Society of Victoria with an Award of Merit. This award recognised Helen’s outstanding service in researching and promoting history in Oakleigh and surrounding suburbs for over twenty years. Helen has written many publications including “Taking its Place: A History of Oakleigh”, and she curates several exhibitions annually at the Monash Federation Centre, Oakleigh. Congratulations, Helen!
